In Puzzle 19, you should play QI at g1 for 16 points. At first, this play looks suicidal, but it shows just how lethal implication can be. Since your opponent is Nigel Richards (regarded by many as the best player in the world), you can reliably determine that he doesn’t have a U (SHUT) nor an A (since there would be 4 more As in the bag from his POV and no Os, HAT would be a marginally better play than HOT with nearly all racks.) Thus, even if your opponent draws a U, he often won’t be able to use the Q spot, and you can cash IT for 45 next turn at the very minimum while blocking row 1, which is a very dangerous bingo line.
