In Puzzle 49, your opponent has a very vowel-heavy rack. You can play AFOOT 2e, setting up MUG on your next turn (with MUG m2 as a fallback), however, after AERO 1i blocks, this route falls a few points short.
Playing GOAT m2 leave you two outs: OVUM n7 (15) and UMBO a11 (11), but after OCREA, this leads to a tie score. However, TABOO does win: even though your opponent can block your only out (with several plays), such as RE m4 or AWeE 5j, you can play MU 15n (19) and play off the G to just barely outrun your opponent. This position goes to show that just because your opponent blocks your initial out-in two route does not mean that the route is permanently ruined.
