Although you could play ZEbUS for 46 and keep a blank, zUZ is better because it sets up a better board dynamic without sacrificing too much equity. zUZ will make it extremely difficult for your opponent to score well next turn. When you bingo next turn with your extremely strong leave, you will have a significant leave on a very closed board. ZEbUS will make it much easier to come back since your opponent will have more options both on the next turn and for the rest of the game.
